Hello, and thank you for visiting my professional ePortfolio!
When I lead with a child in mind, I think of my daughter. I think of all the things she will dream of in her lifetime, and I know the role that education will play in helping her to accomplish those dreams. My leadership in education supports not only her, but all children under my professional care who dream of a future that starts with their journey at school.
As a leader, I have a natural ability to inspire others to rise to their full potential. I value responsibility and high ethics. I enjoy a good challenge. I learn from the past to guide the present. I am a communicator, and I am passionate about speaking up for our students, especially when it involves the underrepresented and underserved. I have been successful in building relationships with families and community partners, and fully believe in the importance of a team approach to education. In my role as our school behavior specialist, I spent a year working with students who exhibit challenging behaviors, supporting teachers, and building positive relationships with parents. All of my educational leadership experiences during the last ten years have given me the knowledge, skills and practice I need to step into a new role with confidence.
I speak both Spanish and English fluently and have been a language specialist for the past twelve years. I have taught both internationally and locally, and I have Kindergarten through post-secondary teaching experience. I have developed bilingual programs, affected policy around equity, and influenced district decisions related to English Language Learners, processes and access to content. I lead to provide the best academic experience possible for ALL students, addressing equity, influencing positive change, and finding ways to effectively meet the unique needs of our diverse population.
Thanks again for visiting my ePortfolio!
Sincerely,
Carol Baltazar
